Mission + Vision
Presence Collective is a growing community dedicated to personal and professional transformation, social and reproductive justice, and decolonized collective liberation. We are a collective of practitioners, teachers, and students from diverse wisdom traditions and backgrounds.
Mission
Presence Collective is committed to empowering women and girls by providing transformative, research-based education, embodied awareness practices and culturally relevant community resources that enhance the full spectrum of wellness across the lifespan from menarche to menopause and beyond. Commited to collective good.
We center the lived experiences of Black women and girls because identity, education, and race are at the core of political and economic injustice. We utilize the arts as a powerful cultural reflection and self-expression tool, providing dynamic wellness strategies and innovative human technological processes. Our work prioritizes intergenerational connections, collective conversation, and the integration of cultural celebration, ritual, and intellect. The impact of our research and programming will improve global health outcomes and create a dynamic shift in the ways women and girls value and care for themselves.
Vision
We envision a future in which women and girls have equitable access to health resources that honor and promote their well-being in its fullest form. We aim to create spaces for flourishing, creative expression, and cultural empowerment by reimagining how health is understood- beyond mere survival or illness.
Our vision draws inspiration from Afrofuturism and Black feminist thought, offering a framework that centers on Black women's unique cultural, social, and historical realities. Through collective storytelling, arts-based programming, and intergenerational dialogue, we seek to build a future that transcends historical trauma and affirms Black women's strength, joy, and wisdom.
The impact of our research and programming will improve global health outcomes and create a dynamic shift in the ways women and girls value and care for themselves. By centering those of the African Diaspora, we inherently address the needs of the globally marginalized by providing transformative professional and peer experiences that enhance the biopsychosocial development and trajectory of well-being, thus expanding confidence, opportunity, and agency.
Value
We value teachings that center equity and focus on dismantling colonialist teachings and other oppressive structures — while being firmly rooted in the truth of our interconnection and shared being. We believe that the collective movement from “I” to “we” is one of the medicines called for now. We see presence as the life force that brings about that transformation. Together, we remember and experience the truth of our interconnection, womb wisdom, and support of others.
We host visionaries, leaders, and teachers from various communities. We provide a platform for those whose work centers on social & reproductive justice and collective liberation. We’ve hosted conversations on Mindfulness, Youth, & Social Justice, Reproductive Health, and integrative nutrition, held Respite retreats, and hosted teachers and leaders. We are united by what’s most fundamental, most inherent, and most vibrantly alive in the direct experience of who we authentically are: presence and power. You are warmly invited to join us.
We are passionate about embodied and engaged education, activism, and wellness practices centering on the education and understanding of the vaginal complex* and the impact of hormonal shifts on the daily emotional, psychological, and physical lives of women and girls.
Framework
Womaning Well ~ is how we envision a protected, resourced, and liberated ecosystem for women and girls across the globe who are informed, empowered, and emotionally intelligent.
Using the P*3 Framework, we will Provide, Practice, and Promote integrative strategies for the person born with a vagina who has a lived experience along the trajectory from menarche to menopause and every phase in between.
